Program Description:


This experiential learning exercise will extend the discussion of Investment Policy Statements (IPS) to include the power of purposefully incorporating a client’s broader life goals and personal (or corporate) values into the IPS document.

Learn how you can use an IPS to influence the culture of the manager/client relationship.

In the hands of a caring planning professional, an IPS becomes a tool to not only professionally manage an investment portfolio, but the key to establishing an investment and financial planning relationship that fulfills their broader values and personal life goals.

Bonus:  As the Conflict of Interest Rule looms, the IPS may also become a cornerstone compliance document, presenting current and relevant written reference material illustrating what it might mean to put the client's interest FIRST in the investment portfolio decision making thought process.

By the time you exit this event you will:

a.  Understand the most important elements to include in an Investment Policy Statement


b.  Learn how to align/merge a clients’ values and personal life goals into an Investment Policy Statement, and from there, into their investment portfolios.


c.  Complete an Investment Policy Statement connected to Case Study client profiles and real time discussion - a true peer to peer test of your listening and fact gathering skills, your investment policy comfort and drafting skills, and your capacity to link what your clients' value with where you might begin the investment selection process.
