About the Speaker:
David I. Karp
A Tucson community member since 1999, David I. Karp earned a J.D. from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law in 2009 (cum laude) and earned a B.S.E. in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan in 1991. He is admitted to practice law in Arizona and is a member of the State Bar of Arizona, WealthCounsel and ElderCounsel. He also leads a monthly study group for financial advisors, life insurance agents, and accountants. In between his college and law school years, Dave worked as a civilian for the U.S. Navy and as a local business consultant and cared for his infant son for two years. Dave is married to a Tucson urologist and has two children. His daughter, Adina will turn 21 in two days (April 13) and is a junior at U of A majoring in Education and Leadership. Corey will turn 17 next month and is a junior at UHS. He is an aspiring Broadway performer and competitive dancer.
Dave serves on the Jewish Community Foundation of Southern Arizona's Professional Advisory Group and has served on its Grants Oversight Committee and Grants Deliberation Committee, He is also a member of the Tucson Foothills Club, which raises money for children's charities in Tucson.
Dave is an avid reader and a big Michigan sports fan, but mostly enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.
