FPAGP Advocacy Day 2021 - a Virtual Visit with our Legislators

Now that our new President has been sworn in, some of the transition angst has dissipated, and our nation has been re-awakened to the importance of Advocacy, it's time for the chapter to reach out to our members and CFP community about this years' legislative activity.

Please join us as we build greater awareness of FPA and the profession of financial planning overall with our Arizona state legislators. 

FPAGP has proven to our elected officials that we can serve as a resource to them when it comes to financial issues and legislation.  In 2019, we successfully partnered with legislators to advance protection in Arizona for Vulnerable Adults. In 2020, we caused a pause and review of proposed legislation around Annuity Sales.  Our extended efforts include forming relationships with regulators and elected officials at multiple levels of government.

Now, in 2021, Covid-19 will not stop us as we continue building our relationships with those who make decisions that affect our profession and our clients' financial lives and well being.

What does participating involve?

• Logging in to the chapter Zoom Room at 9 AM for a 45 minute Advocacy issues update and logistics session - a very short training in "how we advocate"

• Speaking [as scheduled in advance] with legislators’ virtually via Zoom [in break out rooms] and sharing with them how FPA and the profession of financial planning impacts lives and futures of Arizona citizens for the better.

• Smiling for Photo Shots!

• We will complete our legislator appointments by 1 p.m.  

The sooner you commit, the more likely we can let your legislators know of your expected presence and request an appointment with them - and help you reach out directly too.  Block off the morning of Feb 10th and register today!
