Doug Lerner of the Douglas R. Lerner Group will be our April 23 presenter. His discussion will focus on: 
  • The difference between Term and Permanent insurance and what makes sense in a financial plan.
  • How permanent insurance is being sold as an investment or retirement plan and if it makes good financial sense.
  • How to analyze an existing life insurance policy.
  • Insurance companies ever-changing underwriting issues.
The learning objectives for this session will be for all attendees to have a better understanding of how life insurance integrates with a financial plan and a better understanding of how the different products work.

Doug received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Arizona in 1993 and earned the Certified Public Accountant designation while at Arthur Andersen in Phoenix from 1993-1997. After moving into the insurance and financial planning industry, he founded The Lerner Group in 1998. The Lerner Group was established to assist estate planners, financial planners, CPAs, and other professionals in providing their clients in providing their clients with an independent, analytical, and technical approach to life insurance, disability, and long term care.
