    Client Service Associate Scottsdale Quarter HQ (north Scottsdale) needed for high paced, rapidly growing investment management firm


    The Client Service Associate (CSA) role is a support position providing dedicated operational support to multiple Financial Advisors (FAs) across multiple states. This includes involvement in day-to-day office initiatives in addition to the businesses of the particular FAs. For established clients, the CSA will often serve as the most frequent point of contact.

    A successful candidate will possess impeccable attention to detail, as well as the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships both internally and with external clients. Demonstrated passion for delivering exceptional client service. The ability to multitask, prioritize tasks and identify when to escalate issues.

    CSA will work under direct supervision of assigned Team Leader. Candidate will have ability to take direction and be coachable. Proven ability to operate effectively in a matrix organization with the ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.

    Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Outlook. General comfort level with Internet/Intranet usage and ability to learn proprietary software and databases.

    This position will combine associate advisor and paraplanner responsibilities with a career path of an advisor. This position will support the firm’s lead advisors in serving current client needs on a day-to-day basis. In addition, the position will play a critical role with new and prospective clients using our discovery process to quantify the value we can offer above and beyond their current situation.

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Develop and update financial plans for current and new clients. Be comfortable conversing with clients and participating in client planning dialogs.
    • Document meeting notes and tasks as a result of client meetings, assuring we deliver on all tasks we promise to deliver on.
    • Use analytical capacity to determine and recommend solutions in advanced areas such as retirement planning, tax-efficient distribution planning and investment strategies, social security claiming strategies, employer stock and option planning, deferred compensation planning, pension analysis, estate planning, insurance review and analysis, tax loss harvesting, etc.
    • Use tax background to address tax specific questions for clients, and work with the firm's other advisors to formulate solutions.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Work with other team members to evaluate/lead new firm-wide strategic initiatives.
    • Promote a culture of compliance by following and enforcing firm policies and procedures and all applicable compliance rules and regulations.
    • Actively participate in industry/community organizations.

    Education/Experience/Technical Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree minimum; Graduate degree preferred.
    • CFP® or CPA certification preferred (Required within 24 months of hire).
    • Minimum of 3 years of financial planning and/or investment advisor experience with direct client responsibilities.
    • Series 65 securities registration required (or completed within 6 months of hire).
    • Knowledge and experience with financial planning software
      • Emoney, VEO One, Morningstar Office, Redtail, iRebal
    • Highly analytical and proficient in Microsoft Excel.
    • Track record of establishing and maintaining successful interpersonal relationships.

    Anyone interested in teaching college-level Economics at the Colangelo College of Business at Grand Canyon University?

    • Looking for instructors passionate about bringing economics to life in the college setting – teaching on campus twice/week for the Fall or Spring semester
    • Preference is a graduate degree in economics or an MBA with emphasis in finance and/or economics

    This role provides support to financial advisors through trading and money movement, and business processing. Responds to ad hoc requests, coordinates/tracks projects.

    Responsibilities and Time Allocation - May change over time to meet the needs of the practice and can include other duties as assigned by the advisor.

    ·         Trading and money movement in client accounts.

    ·         Completion of forms and applications for client and advisor signature.

    ·         Depositing of checks and stock certificates.

    ·         Investment research using MorningStar Advisor Workstation.

    ·         Performing other allowable duties as assigned by the financial advisors and senior staff.

    Back Office Advisor Support Duties - May change over time to meet the needs of the practice and can include other duties as assigned by the advisor.

    ·         Researching and answering questions for clients, if requested and as allowable, related to the servicing of their accounts.

    ·         Review and update client information as needed for client meeting. Attending and participating in client meetings if necessary.

    Key Traits of a Successful Paraplanner:

    ·         Direct attention to detail and organization

    ·         Thorough understanding of investment account types (managed vs brokerage) and tax treatment distinctions among various account types

    ·         Knowledgeable regarding features, distinctions and relative strengths of product types, including but not limited to: mutual funds, ETFs, UITs, annuities, CEFs, REITs, BDCs, private placements, term and cash value life insurance, disability, long-term care and hybrid insurance

    ·         Effective and efficient time management

    ·         Polite and clear phone manner and e-mail composition

    ·         Ability to multi-task

    ·         Adherence to rules and regulations as stated and required by advisor, Ameriprise Financial, regulatory agencies

    ·         Ability to support and provide guidance for compliance within the practice

    ·         Positive attitude and sincere willingness to constantly learn and grow

    Education and Other Designations:

    ·         2+ years of similar experience

    ·         Preferably has the following licenses - Series 7, Series 66, and State life, accident and health insurance licenses
