    Investment Analyst Job Description

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to: ensuring accurate trade executions, managing performance data for the firm’s investment clients, monitoring account cash levels, researching investment funds and presenting recommendations to the Investment Committee, interfacing with product vendors, and supporting other team members and departments in their duties. Job responsibilities described below relate to investment management in both the U.S. and Canada.

    Trading responsibilities:

    • ·         Research, maintain, improve, and document existing and potential trading systems and processes
    • ·         Review and propose trades for rebalancing and cash reviews
    • ·         Undertake measures to ensure best execution

    Research responsibilities:

    • ·         Perform detailed due diligence on new and previously approved investment products
    • ·         Monitor regulatory documents and public and subscription-based sources for updates on securities used in portfolios
    • ·         Work with strategy team to identify product gaps and other areas for research
    • ·         Keep abreast of economic and market developments, academic research, new investment product offerings, and other areas that can affect the firm’s investing strategy
    • ·         Summarize and present research and recommendations regarding funds and strategies for portfolios to the Investment Committee

    Administrative/Client responsibilities:

    • ·         Provide portfolio reviews, customer service, and guided advice to the firm’s investment clients and serve as a primary contact for certain relationships
    • ·         Ensure an accurate data download from the custodians daily and review cash levels
    • ·         Maintain and improve procedures for all assigned duties
    • ·         Prepare and publish quarterly performance reports via multiple channels
    • ·         Manage the annual investment review process as it relates to scheduling, tracking, and document preparation
    • ·         Invoice clients and process fees
    • ·         Provide backup support for cashiering and account opening duties
    • ·         Take minutes for various internal committee meetings
    • ·         Develop working knowledge of all software used in investment department – Morningstar Office, Microsoft Dynamics, Excel, Word and Outlook, tRx, IPS Advisor Pro, eMoney, Finametrica

    Qualifications:

    • ·         Degree in business, finance, or related major
    • ·         Ability to follow and improve complex process documents
    • ·         Interest in financial services and investment research experience
    • ·         Proficient analytical and technical skills
    • ·         FINRA Series 65 license or successful attainment within 90 days of hire
